Fringing has been trimmed short at both ends and has the expected wear and fraying. Red dye has spread into the fringing in places suggesting the red areas of the rug have possibly been re-dyed at some point.

Overall some cotton weft slubs visible to the carpet front in some areas.
Some hard to spot over-stitching visible to one area of red on a stylised flower, possibly elsewhere but with quite some looking no other areas are obviously apparent.
The edges have been re-worked with red wool double overstitching.
The cotton fringes are worn short, in particular to the corners.
