The Lorenzo De Medici was the very first Patron of the Arts pen from Montblanc, issued in 1992, and pays tribute to one of the most important figures of 15th century Italian Renaissance culture and politics. Lorenzo 'il Magnifico' (1449-1492), ruler of Florence in all but name, was a patron of major Renaissance artist talents such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Verrocchio and Ghirlandaio, who were all resident at his court.

George Augustus Frederick, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811, was famed in equal measure for his knowledge, style and manners as well as his gluttony, laziness and unsustainable expenditure. He was the leader of British artistic tastes in the early 19th century especially through his patronage of the architects John Nash and Jeffry Wyatville and his commissions to the miniature portraitist Richard Cosway.

George Augustus Frederick, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811, was famed in equal measure for his knowledge, style and manners as well as his gluttony, laziness and unsustainable expenditure. He was the leader of British artistic tastes in the early 19th century especially through his patronage of the architects John Nash and Jeffry Wyatville and his commissions to the miniature portraitist Richard Cosway.
The Prince Regent was the first of the Patron of the Arts pen to be made not only in edition numbers of 4810, but also using more precious materials in edition numbers of 888

Accessories: Original Montblanc Marquise de Pompadour cream lacquer box, Marquise de Pompadour International Service Certificate, Marquise de Pompadour outer card box and outer white card sleeve
Jean Antoinette Poisson, Marquise de Pompadour (1761-1764) was the principal mistress of Louis XV of France, and later became 'friend of the King'. In conjunction with her political influence at the court of Versailles, Mme. de Pompadour was a champion of French Rococo artists such as Françios Boucher. She also led the way in the decorative arts of the Rococo, which included her building of the Sévres porcelain factory in 1756, which went on to became of one of Europe's leading porcelain manufacturers.
