The central diamond has some noticeable thinning to the claws, but they are still holding the stone, they would benefit from being retipped. The setting would benefit from being rhodium plated again as some slight gold tone is coming through on the claws and the back of the shank, some general wear and surface scratches. AN EDWARDIAN PERIDOT, ENAMEL AND HALF PEARL BROOCH CIRCA 1900 AND LATER The heart shaped peridot suspended from a seed pearl surmount between red enamel and split pearl wings, unmarked Size/dimensions: 4.5cm wide Gross weight: 6.7 grams Condition Report: The gold standard isn't stamped on the wings, and due to the destructive nature of the test we cannot test the piece. it appears to be around 15 carat gold. The peridot drop appears to have come from another item, possibly mid 20th century, there are some nicks and nibbles to the peridot. AN ART DECO AQUAMARINE AND DIAMOND DRESS RING CIRCA 1925 The cushion shaped aquamarine between scrolled openwork shoulders set with single cut diamonds, unmarked Size/dimensions: ring size V Gross weight: 9.8 grams Condition Report: The ring has some thinning to the back of the shank, the shank has already been replaced once, the claws may have been subtly rebuilt, a couple of posts to the frame have come away from the base of the ring setting, but it all still appears to be stabler. The aquamarine is bright, it does have a few nicks and nibbles to the crown facet edges and a few to the table, a chip from the girdle to the pavilion, some nicks to the back of the stone. Claude Yorke (1872 - 1940) as a gift for his wife, The Hon. Mrs Claude Yorke (nee. Fay Zarifi - d. 1928). Claude Yorke was an architect, and had worked in Cairo at the turn of the twentieth century between 1897 and 1907. He married Fay Zarifi in 1914, and family repute suggests he would have had an influence in the design of the necklace. Thence by direct descent.
