A 19TH CENTURY FOB SEAL BROOCH PIN The first a second quarter of the 19th century fob carved with the armorial for the Hunt family of Shropshire, of the arms of the Reverend Thomas Hunt and his wife Jane Harding, to a gilt metal setting; the second with the armorial of Hunt, late 19th/early 20th century; a mid 19th century gold fob seal with handle formed as a gentleman seated upon a globe, the hardstone intaglio carved with a helmeted soldier; the final fob with a polished cornelian panel, within a gilt floral setting, suspended from a floral chased split ring, with later double pin fitting; and a gilt metal fob carved with the profile of a Roman warrior Size/dimensions: figural fob 3.2cm long Gross weight: 71.8 grams Provenance: Private Collection First seal:These are the impaled arms of the Revd. AN ANTIQUE AND LATER TOPAZ AND ENAMEL FLORAL SPRAY BROOCH The flowerhead with oval cut topaz with pink foiled backs, with green enamelled leaves, to a leaf spray with a fringe of graduated pink foil backed topaz drop buds suspended from green enamelled trumpet shaped leaf sections, the later brooch clasp stamped 14K Size/dimensions: 9.1cm long Gross weight: 40.5 grams Provenance: Private Collection Condition Report: The topaz sections are the oldest parts of the brooch, mid 19th century, possibly been converted from a necklace, they have scuffs and scratches to the backs of the settings, the scrapes testing as silver, with gilding worn, the pink foiling's behind the stones have some perishing as commensurate with age, the stones themselves are pale, some nicks and small chips to some of the stones. The green enamelled sections are later, probably mid 20th century, there are some small chips to the enamel, and the one leaf at the top has damage to the folded section noticeable losses, one of the enamelled leaves has been totally re-enamelled and chipped, and another has a fracture to the enamel and a small patch of re-enamelling, the brooch fitting is fairly modern, it is stamped 14k.Condition Report Disclaimer
